Our Director of Operations

Director of Operations Michael Rios came to HSNB following a distinguished career in facility and operations management and human resources in the corporate, dot-com and non-profit sectors.

Michael is a proud Vallejo resident, dedicated to his community and serving humans and animals in need, so he took leap of faith to join HSNB. “As the youngest of 18 children of a single parent, I understand what it is like not to have,” he said.

Michael brings this sensitivity and strong compassion to HSNB in his role as the head of operations. He’s the fur dad of Hoochie, Moñeco, & Poncho – his trio of Chihuahuas, and La Bandon, his tuxedo kitty. All are rescues.

Michael came to us wishing to make a difference in the lives of those around him, including HSNB staff, volunteers, donors and our beloved community. He loves sports, is an accomplished softball player. Every morning, Michael makes the rounds of HSNB, saying hello to every animal in our care. Michael has ambitious goals for HSNB, and we look forward to watching Michael Rios and all he will accomplish at the Humane Society of the North Bay.
